We have had an extreme amount of love from our Nokia Lumia lovers and Windows Phone users since we have released our updated Truecaller app for Windows 8.1! So much love, infact, that we have brought on a talented team of Windows Phone developers to keep improving our app for Windows Phone. We introduce to you Costin from Romania, and Hassaan, from Pakistan.

At Truecaller, our Windows Phone developers work mainly with Nokia devices like Lumia 1020, 620, and 925.

"My first Nokia device was the 3310…'the classic,' Hassaan laughed. "I was a master at the game Snake, and had different face plates I could pop on or off. Infact, I still have that phone. It's 11 years old and works perfectly fine. You can't say that about very many phones out there."

But now Hassaan taps the buttons on a different Nokia device; the Lumia 1020. "I love the camera. I don't think any phone has a better one…and maps! The navigation is really good. It's just an all around great device, and easy to work with."

Out of all the different platforms to develop for, why did they want to work with Windows Phone?

Costin: It was more convienient because I knew Silverlight. I also liked the atmosphere and environment from hackathons I participated in.

Hassaan: I have always been a Microsoft guy, and have been working with Windows platforms for 7 years. It just made sense.

What has been the most exciting Truecaller feature to develop and see work on your Lumia device?

Costin: Call filter- It's a challenging project, because there are some restrictive guidelines we follow that are not on, say, Android. It's always fun to be challenged.

Hassaan: The Facebook integration was fun the develop because I did this integration from 0, and it works really well. That's fun for me to see my creations work, and also our users enjoy integrating with it.

What is your advice for people who want to get into developing for Windows Phone?

Costin: Developing takes a lot of patience. Especially when there are technical restrictions and you really want to make an end result happen. So I would say, learn patience.

Hassaan: Start using Windows Phone SDK, and become familiar with .NET framework. It's very simple to get in to, and really rewarding to see your work become reality.
