Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

Oh, what a year 2013 has been. We have seized and overcome challenges, seen two game-changing Truecaller designs, doubled in team members, and opened doors of opportunity at each turn of the Truecaller journey.

Oh, what a year 2013 has been. We have seized and overcome challenges, seen two game-changing Truecaller designs, doubled in team members, and opened doors of opportunity at each turn of the Truecaller journey.

We started 2013 off by announcing Truecaller reached 10 million users strong, and now almost 12 months later, we stand before you at 40 million users. With thirty different languages now available in Truecaller, we have created a living, evolving community of people that are all striving to make the world a little smaller, technology a little stronger, and Truecaller a lot more accurate and easy to use.

Recruitment has been an exciting part of the Truecaller journey, as we have hired 16 new full time team members and 32 part time members. New positions in the team included translators, web and graphic designers, backend developers, sales and marketing team members, Android and iPhone developers, and a very talented HR partner, CFO and CCO.

Our CEO, Alan and CSO, Nami, were bit by the travel bug, as they made first time appearances in San Francisco and India. Several European conferences and Indian events were attended by Truecaller, including M-Days, Mobile World Congress, Web Summit, and Tech Sparks.

Not only have we been recognized in the social media world, with over 900K Facebook fanpage likes, 60K Twitter followers, and 15K Instagram fans, but Truecaller has been highlighted for several different awards in Sweden. In April, Ny Teknik nominated Truecaller as one of the top 33 hottest Swedish companies, and merely seven months later, Computer Sweden declared Truecaller to have risen as the 4th hottest IT company in Sweden. Although we didn’t take home the gold medal on some of the nominations, it was an honor to be nominated for a Guldmobilen (Mobil Business) in the category of ‘Årets raketföretag,’ and also internationally as ‘App of the Year’ by NDTV.

We’ve spent time reaching out to students through our Truecrew Brand Ambassador program, co-hosting Stockholm Startup meetups to enhance the local startup community, and growing a whole lotta mustaches in support of the cancer awareness event, Movember.

Rounding up December, we partnered with super power social broadcasting mogul, Twitter in our newest release, ‘Truecaller 4.0.’ Indian users are the first people to be able to experience a new type of Twitter integration; to be able to see if a number is connected with a Twitter account, and have the ability to tweet or follow a person directly through the Truecaller app.

As we say goodbye and close the door to 2013 in all of our personal and work lives, the Truecaller Team looks back on a year of commitment to our users and to us. We will always try our best to make communication faster and stress-free, keep our integrity of an honorable company, and no matter where a user is in the world, we keep our commitment to listen to them and help make Truecaller the best app it can be for the world.

Oh, what a year 2013 has been…but, oh, what a year 2014 is to come.
